Teaching
As an industry leader, I was responsible for leading feedback sessions for creative teams, and I provided specific and constructive critiques while reviewing work to affect change and improve future creative processes. Today, I use my professional experiences to foster the same type of environment in the classroom. I establish academic standards and objectives from the outset of every course to empower students to exercise creative freedom while also having clear expectations of intended outcomes. I also recount real-world experiences in all of my courses, drawing from my leadership experience in the strategic communication field to explain concepts in public relations, advertising and marketing in an effective manner. Additionally, I aim to strike the balance between accommodating the learning needs of my students while simultaneously promoting academic rigor that will set them up for future success in the industry they choose.
